The city Delhi is popular for its rich culture and heritage. Delhi is the capital city of India and is considered the heart of the nation. The city hosts several famous historical monuments and has developed over time. The influence of Mughal, ancient Indian and British cultural influences as well as religious diversity can be seen in the city. The capital city is divided into two divisions, known as Old Delhi and New Delhi. Old Delhi is popular for its ancient crowds and monuments as well as its overcrowded gastronomic lanes. The culture of Delhi has been influenced by its long history and the historical institutions as the capital of India, though a strong Punjabi influence can be seen in the language. How to reach Delhi – 

By Air –   The Indira Gandhi International Airport is Delhi’s Airport which is well connected to India and various cities in the world. There are regular flights from Mumbai, Bangalore, Chennai, Hyderabad, Lucknow, Goa, Kolkata, Guwahati and international destinations to Delhi. There are low cost airlines such as Spice Jet, Indigo and Go Air etc.

By Train –The Delhi Northern Railway is headquartered and has five major railway stations in Delhi, namely The New Delhi Railway Station, Old Delhi Railway Station, Nizamuddin Railway Station, Anand Bihar Railway Terminal and Sarai Rohila. New Delhi Railway Station provide right of entry to the Rajdhani Expresses that connects the metropolitan cities like Hyderabad, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Guwahati, Patna, Bhubaneshwar and Indore.

By Road – Delhi is connected towards Jaipur by NH8 and Agra by NH2. The city is also well connected to destinations like Dehradun, which is 243 km away and four and a half hours away. Delhi is well connected with other cities, including Chandigarh 243 km away, Amritsar 448 km away and Alwar 186 km away.

  3. Qutub Minar –The tallest minaret in India, the Qutub Minar, is considered to commemorate the victory and the beginning of the Mughal era in India. The 73 m tall tower was built by Qutub-Uddin Aibak after defeating the last Hindu kingdom.
  4. Bahai (Lotus) Temple –Due to its resemblance to the lotus flower, the Bahai Temple is famous as the Padma Temple. The famous Padma symbolizes the four religions of Hinduism, Islam, Buddhism and Jainism.
  5. Lodi Gardens –The Lodi Gardens were built by the British in 1936 to commemorate the 15th and 16th century rulers. Best time to visit Delhi City –

The month of October and November or February and March are measured as the best times to visit Delhi. In May and June the temperature reaches 4 degrees.
